Sunseap Group welcomes two new directors to its board

The Board of Directors of Sunseap Group is pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Melvyn Yeo Hak Boon and Mr Robert Yap Min Choy as new board members of Sunseap Group with effect from 16th November, 2015.
The two new directors will provide expertise and leadership complementary to the current management team encompassing Frank Phuan and Lawrence Wu, as Sunseap aims to expand its clean energy product offerings and overseas footprint. Mr Melvyn Yeo and Mr Robert Yap will be responsible for contributing key strategies to guide Sunseap in its expansion plans and aid in matters of corporate governance.
Mr Robert Yap brings to Sunseap long-standing experiences in senior management roles, corporate strategy, and network in business circles. Mr Yap was part of DFS Group Limited senior global leadership for over 10 years and helmed the position as President, DFS Venture (DFSV) Singapore and member of the board. Prior to his tenure at DFS, Mr Yap was Chief Executive Officer for East Asia, Asia Middle East and Strategic Services at PSA International. Between 2006 and 2014, He also served as a board member within IBM Corporation Global Advisory Board based in New York, US.
Mr Yap currently assumes key roles in various companies and institutions, including and not limited to Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Y3 Technologies, Board Director of Numoni Singapore, Singapore Council Member of ASEAN Business Advisory Council, as well as Chairman of ROCK Productions Pte Ltd.
Mr Robert Yap commented on the exciting possibilities this appointment brings, "This is a great organization with great people. Alongside Mr Robert Yap, Mr Melvyn Yeo joins Sunseap with a wealth of experience in business development and investing. Following a fulfilling career where he spent more than a decade in Goldman Sachs (Asia) managing assets and providing strategic investment advice to clients in the region, Mr Yeo joined Thirdrock Pte Ltd as a Principal and Chief Investment Officer in 2011. He plays an instrumental role in the strategic expansion of the firm to what is now regarded as one of Singapore's larger independent financial and investment services firm. Mr Yeo is appointed as a representative of TRIREC Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based investment company he co-founded that focuses on investing in the renewable and clean energy sectors and is a District Councillor in South West Community Development Council's Environment Committee.
Mr Yeo also possesses sharp business acumen as an angel and early stage investor. He has led a number of investments and co-invested alongside institutions such as Spring Seeds, National Research Foundation, and other prominent investment firms such as Goldman Sachs, Khosla Ventures, Formation8, Incuvest and Get2Volume. Eager about the opportunity and appointment, Mr Yeo commented, "I am very honoured to be given this key role and a mandate to steer the group's direction together with qualified partners.
