Sunseap Group of Companies – Is Sunseap just a solar company?

You may have the impression that Sunseap is all about solar, solar, and solar. And you couldn't be more wrong. But that's alright! In today's blog, we will be sharing with you on the different pillars of Sunseap's suite of solutions and how they complement each other!

To start the ball rolling, we have:

1) Sunseap Leasing – Solar PPA

The very first entity of Sunseap Group, Sunseap Leasing is considered to be the pioneer of solar leasing/power purchase agreements in Singapore. Through Sunseap Leasing, Sunseap has bagged numerous projects in the government and commercial sector such as Jurong Port, Panasonic, HDB, SMRT, and Singapore American School. Sunseap has also replicated the success it has achieved in Singapore, in regional markets such as Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam.

In June 2019, Sunseap Vietnam completed a US$150 million utility-scale solar farm located in Vietnam's Ninh Thuan Province with a system size of 168MWp, ahead of schedule. This ground-breaking project, one of the largest in Vietnam, serves to improve grid reliability and provide jobs for the local community in managing, operating and maintaining photovoltaic systems.

2) Sunseap Energy - Residential & Commercial Retail Energy

Sunseap Energy is a fully owned subsidiary of Sunseap Group, and a licensed electricity retailer by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) in Singapore. As the electricity retail arm of Singapore's largest solar developer, Sunseap Energy is able to capitalize on this competitive advantage and sell locally produced solar energy to mass consumers, even if they do not own a solar system. This is a feat that is difficult to be accomplished on a large scale, unless you have a sizable portfolio of solar generation facilities in Singapore.

Sunseap Energy is a fully owned subsidiary of Sunseap Group, and a licensed electricity retailer by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) in Singapore. As the electricity retail arm of Singapore's largest solar developer, Sunseap Energy is able to capitalize on this competitive advantage and sell locally produced solar energy to mass consumers, even if they do not own a solar system. This is a feat that is difficult to be accomplished on a large scale, unless you have a sizable portfolio of solar generation facilities in Singapore.

Consumers are able to procure solar energy or brown energy (non-solar) at competitive rates that is discounted against SP's Regulated Tariff. Sunseap Energy's list of clientele includes Big Tech companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Facebook.

3) Sunseap Engineering (EPC and O&M)

Sunseap Engineering is the Group's EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) arm that focuses on developing our in-house technical expertise. Sunseap Engineering's strong portfolio of government, commercial and industrial projects is testament to the trust and confidence stakeholders have in us. Sunseap Engineering has a dedicated real-time monitoring team to ensure that our solar systems are always operating at an optimal level, minimizing system downtime.

4) Sunseap Solutions (Energy Efficiency)

Sunseap Solutions is one of the youngest and fastest growing of Sunseap. Since 2019, the company has doubled its headcount and secured various energy efficiency contracts both in Singapore and overseas markets. Sunseap Solutions' business is a perfect complementary fit that synergizes with the Group's aim of decarbonizing Singapore and the region. Sunseap Solutions is also the main distributor of OPTIGRUEN Green Roof Solutions in South East Asia.


One of Sunseap Solution's offerings consists of EPC (Energy Performance Contracts), Energy Audit and Energy Intelligence. Starting with an Energy Audit, Sunseap Solutions analyses the pros and cons of your building, providing you with a detailed report on how to manage your energy consumption in a more efficient and sustainable throughout the whole building and for a greater return on investment.

5) Charge+ - Sunseap's EV Charging Solution

With the EV sector set to boom for the coming years, Charge+ is Sunseap's latest icing on the cake in pushing for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in Singapore and the region. Electric Vehicles are the perfect remedy against carbon emissions released by fuel powered vehicles. EV Infrastructure has to however be widely available before EVs will be accepted on a greater scale by the mass public. And this is Charge+'s vision. The world's first slim dual AC EV charger, Charge+ is designed to be ultra-slim so as to cater to the lack of space in Singapore, allowing us to deploy more of such chargers in carparks. By using the Charge+ mobile app, consumers are able to easily locate and pay for the use of the charging services.
