...but this edition is a little special. It is dedicated to our ladies!

International Women's Day is a day which celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political progress of women globally. In fact, many countries have designated the 8th of March as a public holiday for the advancement of women's rights. In this edition of our regular Humans of Sunseap series, we meet some of the women who play vital roles in solarizing Singapore.

Q: How long have you been working at Sunseap?
A: I'm on my 5th year now.

Q: What is your job scope at Sunseap?
A: I'm a Human Resources Business Partner. I support various functions in the company, working with key personnel in developing and refining processes. It is important for me to understand manpower requirements from the various departments. I also manage the monthly payroll process.

Q: What is it like working at Sunseap?
A: Every company has its own sets of pros and cons, and I appreciate that Sunseap has a nice work culture which gives us autonomy to work freely.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: During my spare time, I enjoy baking and hanging out with my family and friends. I also enjoy my precious time with my young son. . Although he can be a little mischievous, he's a good boy who listens to what his Mummy says.

Q: What motivates you about working in Sunseap?
A: In the time that I have been with the company, I have seen the tremendous growth of the business since its early days. This gives me a sense of achievement that I have played a part in the growth of the solar industry in Singapore.

Q: How long have you been working in Sunseap?
A: I've been here since September 2018, so about 2 years plus.

Q: Tell me something about you that most people don't know.
A: I enjoy spending my weekends doing charity work around the neighbourhood, or wherever I can help out. One such example would be accompanying the elderly at the Old Folks' Home.

Q: What is it like as a working mom?
A: It's definitely challenging, but manageable. In my case, I do feel like I'm quite lucky as my kids are now already able to take care of themselves. They are also well-behaved and I don't have to worry about the things that a lot of teenagers give their parents!

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Trying out new baking and cooking recipes in! Especially during the lockdown period, my family constantly complained that they are stuffed with my 'experiments'!

Q: What do you enjoy doing out of work?
A: If I'm not baking or cooking, I'll be working on my little home garden and making sure I spend quality time with my family.

Q: What has changed since you joined Sunseap?
A: I've become more conscious of the fact that we should be prudent in consuming energy and not take that for granted. I occasionally share with my family members about the importance of the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Q: How long have you been working at Sunseap?
A: About 2 years now.

Q: What is your job scope at Sunseap?
A: I am in charge for all design-related work, and I maintain the company's website.

Q: What is it like working at Sunseap?
A: As long we complete the task at hand, we have flexibility on how we go about finishing our to-do list. I really appreciate that.

Q: What is it like as a working mom?
A: Tired and challenging as I need to juggle between work and family. This is because my children are still very young, and they need a lot of time and attention from me.<

Q: Given that Sunseap is a solar company, what have you done to go solar?
A: The roof of my apartment block has solar panels up! :)
